The Young and the Restless Alum Peter Porte Opens Up About New Film

It looks like Peter Porte is about to show fans a different side of him. At least, on the small screen. New reports say that The Young and the Restless alum is currently promoting his new Hallmark Channel movie, Love at the Shore.

Peter might have played deranged psychopath Ricky on the hit daytime television drama, but in his new movie he’s a cool, laid-back surfer who finds love in the unlikeliest place.

Peter opened up about his new role in an interview with Soaps in Depth. He’s the film is nothing like The Young and the Restless, as it’s a sweet, charming family-friendly film that viewers of all ages will enjoy. It also gives Peter an opportunity to show his fans a softer side of him.

And while Peter plays a surfer in the film, he didn’t really do any surfing in the movie. He explained, “We only had 15 days to shoot it, so there wasn’t much time to teach someone to surf for the first time.”

What’s more, the cast and crew also shot the film in Savannah, Georgia which meant that they didn’t have very good waves. And while Peter is disappointed that he didn’t get to learn how to surf, his fans are still excited to see him in the film. Of course, there’s always the possibility that Peter might learn to ride a wave or two in the film’s sequel, if it happens! Fans will just have to wait and see.
