Royal Family news reveals that, according to MARCA, palace aides with an inside track into the royal family are spilling the Earl Grey on Meghan Markle. Express UK reports that palace aides felt Meghan “craved rejection” within The Firm from the very beginning.

Valentine Low spoke to Express and revealed that some royal staffers are of the opinion that the Duchess of Sussex set herself up “to be rejected by the royal establishment because she never wanted to stay”.

It’s a controversial viewpoint but it is a viewpoint that some people in there [the Palace] felt,” Low told the outlet after explaining that the duchess “craved rejection”. Low, who recently released Courtiers: Intrigue, Ambition and the Power Players Behind the House of Windsor, an insight into the inner workings of The Firm, believes “unrealistic expectations” were likely at the core of Meghan’s struggle.

“It was a combination of her unrealistic expectations about what royal life would be like and the palace’s failure to manage those unrealistic expectations,” Low suggested. He claims that Harry was discontented with royal life years before he met Markle and that she merely “heightened” the feelings he already harbored.

[Harry’s] distrust with the household, his obsession with the media, his desire to create an impact and do something useful before people he becomes middle-aged and boring” was already present according to Low.

Valentine Low Once Sympathized with Sussexes

It’s worth noting, however, that Low has previously sympathized with the Sussexes over their “acrimonious” departure from the Royal Family, even suggesting that the palace had handled things “clumsily”.

Low explained in a previous interview with Express UK that “The Palace handled it badly Harry and Meghan were clearly unhappy. Being born in the family should not be a life sentence – it was handled clumsily.”
