He was last on a contract when he rejoined the daytime drama set in Salem in 2012. Lucas Horton will be part of a new storyline with co-stars Alison Sweeney (Sami Brady) and their daughter Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) reportedly set to drop in March 2021.
Bryan Dattilo become a fan fave immediately, sparring with firecracker Sami for much of his tenure. Since 1993 he was absent twice for brief periods. His most recent absence was in 2011 before returning in early 2012 when the show pulled off a monumental storyline plot in which the town moved forward an entire year in time.

Longtime fans will be pleased to hear that Sweeney is also coming back. Lucas and Sami have been part of many memorable storylines and it sounds like the one coming up will be spectacular.
The pair were a bona fide super couple in 1990s-2000s, and designated Lumi by ardent fans.

Lucas has also been involved with Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) who is also back in Salem. Will we see a sizzling triangle play out? We could, although Lumi will have their hands full with Claire. She appears to be taking after his live wire mom and that could spell trouble. More recently she stole a gun and threatened to blast off her alleged rapist’s body parts. If she hadn’t been stopped by his back from the dead mom, there would be a maimed man walking around Horton Square and Allie would be in jail.
Now it looks like Allie, Sami, and Lucas will have family business to take care of and that promises to be entertaining as well as dramatic.
Days of Our Lives celebrated its 55th anniversary on November 8, and will air it’s 14,000th episode this week, on December 17.

Not happy that Sami is brought back long term. I can only take her manipulative ways and dominating personality in small doses. Hopefully, Days will not just focus on her character. Whenever Sami is on Days, the show revolves around her. This would be an injustice to other formidable characters/actors on Days.
I FEEL THE SAME WAY. Days let so many better actors go and it looks like Allison is collecting their pay. She gets paid enough on Hallmark. Keep her off DAYS
