British royal family news shows that before they became royal, several high-profile members of the United Kingdom monarchy had everyday lives that including working 9 to 5!

Before she was the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton was just an ordinary college student who happened to meet her prince charming. The same can be said for the Duchess of Sussex and the Duchess of Cornwall. What did these ladies do before marrying into the royal family?

Before married Prince William in 2011 she put in time at her parents’ party supply company. Beyond that she was also an accessories buyer with British clothing chain Jigsaw.

Once she and William became involved the public spotlight was all over her every move and so she quit in 2006. Today she is a hard working mom of three and busier than ever fulfilling her spate of royal duties.

Royal Family News – The Duchess of Cornwall

Before Camilla married Prince Charles, she too was busy with her education. She attended Mon Fertile finishing school in Switzerland and she studied French and French Literature at the Institut Britannique in Paris.

Following her schooling Camilla worked as a secretary for several businesses in London. Later she worked as a receptionist for decorating firm Sibyl Colefax & John Fowler in Mayfair.

She gave up her public work life when she married Charles in 2005, but nonetheless works diligently with a full schedule of daily royal duties to attend to.

Royal Family News – Autumn Phillips

Autumn Phillips married the Queen’s eldest grandson, Philip. The Montreal native met her husband-to- be at the 2003 Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal. She attended McGill University and actually tried her hand at acting once upon a time. She also worked in management consulting.

The Countess of Wessex is married to the queen’s son Edward. Before her marriage she had a prolific PR career. She began in public relations at London’s Capital Radio then branched out to work for multiple businesses. Before long she opened her own PR firm, RJH Public Relations. That was in 1996 and in 1999 she married Edward. Today she is a mom of two.

Today she calls herself the Duchess of Sussex, but Meghan was better known as a cable actress and the game show Deal or No Deal’s suitcase model. She and Prince Harry married at St. George’s Chapel in 2018.
