General Hospital Spoilers: Carly Panicking Nina Can Get Custody Of Wiley, Needs Diane’s Advice

General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that in Port Charles, NY Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) will meet with Diane Miller (Carolyn Hennesy) soon in an upcoming episode of General Hospital. Carly, anticipating Nina Reeves’ (Cynthia Watros) next move, wants to know if she would have any chance of winning custody of Wiley Corinthos (Erik and Theodore Olson)!

General Hospital Spoilers – Nina Reeves Will Want To Raise Her Grandson, Carly Corinthos Thinks

Carly is being proactive since Nina now knows that Wiley is her grandson. She hasn’t forgotten how Nina was determined to have a child and put Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) into labor and kidnapped Avery Corinthos-Jerome (Ava and Grace Scarola) as a newborn. Nina had been unbalanced back then, and had wanted revenge against Ava, who had been having an affair with her first husband Silas Clay (Michael Easton) and a daughter with him, Kiki Jerome (Haley Erin).

That was several years ago, and Nina is not the unbalanced woman she was then, but Carly is afraid that Nina could once again go there, since she has found out Nelle Benson (Chloe Lanier) was her birth daughter. Carly doesn’t have any compassion for the late Nelle, and considers that Nina only made excuses for her by thinking she could “fix” Nelle in any way at all. True, Nelle did seem to take after her late grandmother, Madeline Reeves (Donna Mills) in many ways, with her lies and conniving.

But somehow, Nina had thought that if Nelle had the influence of a loving mother figure, that somehow she could be healed from traumas of her childhood. Carly has none of the empathy that Nina does, and Carly views herself as being smart, not being selfish or uncaring. Carly is afraid that Nina will want to push for sole custody of Wiley so that she can make up for the lost time she will never regain with Nelle! So she calls Diane for a meeting to find out if Nina would have any chance at all – just in case she does!

GH Spoilers – Diane Miller Lays Out What Nina Reeves Would Have To Do In Order To Have A Shot At Full Custody Of Wiley Corinthos

Diane meets with Carly and listens to her concerns. The good news is, Nina would likely not be able to get full custody of Wiley, although she could possibly get split custody. But even to be able to push for split custody, Nina would have to be able to prove she is Wiley’s grandmother, and that will take a lot more than having two halves of a pendant! Relationship would have to be proven, and that means that DNA tests would have to be done comparing mitochondrial – in other words, maternal – DNA between Wiley and Nina. Carly doesn’t want Nina to have any access to Wiley at all, and she is afraid that if Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) finds out that Nina is Nelle’s mother, he would want to let her visit Wiley and have time with him! Diane tells Carly she is being totally unrealistic in her wishes!

If Nina has the DNA matching done, and she is shown to be related to Wiley, there is nothing legally that Carly can do to deny her access. Nina is not likely to just want to jerk Wiley out of a loving home with his father, Diane continues. She reminds Carly that if it does come to family court, that the judge will rule in the best interests of the child, not of the relatives. Nina is a far cry from Nelle, and Carly tells Diane about Nina’s past abduction of Avery – doesn’t that count? Diane says that since Carly is the paternal grandmother, she would have some legal standing but not to the extent that Michael does. If Michael agrees to let Nina be a part of Wiley’s life, there is nothing Carly can do to stop it!
