In April 2019, creator Brian Bird spoke to From The Desk about Loughlin. He could only speak for himself, but had this to say about the possibility of the actress returning, “Some of the fans have asked what will happen to Abigail’s character and shared their opinion that Hope Valley should be an example of forgiveness and grace. As Lori’s friend, I could not agree more, and Hope Valley will always be a place of second chances. However, in the real world, having a heart of forgiveness does not mean that justice can be ignored.”

Erin Krakow Dropped Big Hint

When Calls the Heart spoilers reveal that Loughlin and Erin Krakow (Elizabeth Thornton) were good friends as well as co-stars. Their friendship still stands and Krakow responded when a fan tweeted that “these three” would never be seen again. The trio that the viewer was referring to was Elizabeth, Abigail, and Jack Thornton (Daniel Lissing). Krakow replied to the tweet and said, “False. We still [heart emoji] each other.”

Now, that doesn’t necessarily mean that Loughlin will come back to the show, but it does suggest it’s a possibility.
