Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers reveal that in Salem Charlie Dale (Mike Manning) has been shot to death. Head writer Ron Carlivati recently discussed the villain and said the plan was always for Charlie to die. He cannot redeem a rapist, which is understandable. It was something viewers were actually worried about. However, he did mention a possible twin storyline.

DOOL spoilers reveal that Charlie was awkward but likable when he first appeared in the NBC soap. He seemed like a nice guy for Claire Brady (Isabel Durant) until red flags started popping up. When fans finally realized the truth about Charlie, there was hate for the character.

However, we also learned Charlie’s backstory, and Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun) admitted not feeling anything when her son was born. She continued to have no love for Charlie as he grew up. Ava recalled the little things Charlie would do as a child to try and get her love. Unfortunately, he never got the love from his mother that he should have and it likely turned him into a monster.

DOOL Spoilers – No Redemption For Rapists

Carlivati told Soap Opera Digest that the plan from the beginning was to eventually kill off Charlie. They did build a sad backstory for him that made viewers have conflicted feelings about the rapist. One on hand, what he did was terrible and can never be forgiven. On the other hand, when a mother can’t or won’t love her child, it can create all kinds of problems as they grow up. For Charlie, he still seemed desperate to get his mother’s love and approval. But then he also had so much resentment and hate, which came out in destructive and violent ways. Despite a sad backstory, Carlivati said there is no excuse for Charlie’s actions, and he was not going to redeem a rapist.

Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that no matter what soap Carlivati is working on, he loves using twins, doppelgangers, and masks. So it shouldn’t come as too big of a surprise that he mentioned a possible twin for Charlie.

DOOL Spoilers – Possible Twist

Manning played both an evil, violent man as well as a rejected little boy in an adult’s body. He played both of those extremely well. It made Carlivati a bit sad that Manning was leaving, which is making him wonder if there is a way to bring the actor back somehow. That is when the head writer mentioned a possible twin. With soaps, you just never know what will end up happening. The head writer has brought back actors to play a surprise twin before and it could happen again.
