British royal family news reveals that Princess Anne is about to become a grandmother again when her daughter Zara Tindall gives birth to her third child, a baby boy, this summer. But could the boy also symbolize something significant for Princess Anne?
Her grandson’s place in the line of succession in the Royal Family will be different than when she was born, according to the process in place.
When Anne was born 70 years ago, she was third in line to the throne behind her brother Charles and her mom Elizabeth.

At that time Prince titles were passed down through the male line and she was pushed down the list as younger brothers Andrew and Edward jumped ahead of her in the line for the crown.
Then she fell further when Andrew, the Duke of York, and Edward, the Earl of Wessex, had children.
Just recently Princess Eugenie gave birth to a baby boy, August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, who is 11th in line to the throne.
Royal Family News – Who Is Next In Line For The Monarchy?
At this point in time, Anne is 15th in line to the throne and her children Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall, are numbers 16th and 19th, respectively.
Likewise, her granddaughters Savannah, Isla, Mia and Lena are 17th and 18th and 20th and 21st in line to the throne.
Royal Family News – What Happens Next For Princess Anne?
Despite being older and regarded as one of the most popular and hardworking royals, Anne is fast falling down the line but that will change when Zara delivers the Queen’s 10th great-grandchild.
That is because the rule which allows a younger son to displace an elder daughter in the line of succession was abolished in the 2013 Succession to the Crown Act.
The new Act applies to those born after 2011 and until now Princess Charlotte was the only member of the Royal Family affected.

Anne is now behind Prince Charles, his children and his grandchildren – Prince William, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, Prince Harry and Archie in the line of succession.
Also above her are Prince Andrew, his daughters Princesses Beatrice and Eugenie, his grandchild August, the Earl of Wessex Prince Edward and his two children, Viscount Severn and Lady Louise Mountbatten-Windsor.
It is a complicated situation no matter how you slice, luckily there is someone charged with keeping the line sorted out and tidy!
