General Hospital Spoilers: Holly Sutton May Return To PC Any Time – GH Headwriters Reveals

General Hospital spoilers and updates reveal fans have been waiting for Holly Sutton’s (Emma Samms) return to the soap. Co-headwriters Chris Van Etten and Dan O’Connor revealed that the character may return at any time but didn’t say when.

General Hospital Spoilers – The Cause Of The Delay

Van Etten explained that they originally planned to bring “Emma Samms back on canvas more or less full-time.” Unfortunately, a lot of things happened last year that prevented that from happening. He explained that the soap had to discontinue its production and was forced to stop airing for several months in 2020. Not only that, they had to change the story when Samms fell ill, O’Connor added.

Fortunately, Samms managed to shoot a single scene wherein her character was being held hostage at an undisclosed location by a mysterious individual (or group of people), which was aired in September last year. Given that the character’s return has been delayed indefinitely, this one scene was crucial in letting the soap’s audience know that Holly is alive and will be returning soon.

GH Spoilers – Holly Is Very Much Alive

O’Conner explained that it was important for them to highlight that Holly still lives so that the audience won’t assume that they have killed their beloved character offscreen. Even though unfortunate events took place last year that led to the delay, they still managed to create and prepare an intriguing storyline that will pave the way for Holly’s return.

The one scene that Samms managed to shoot allowed both O’Conner and Van Etten to “plant a seed for a story,” that they could play later. Van Etten said, “It might be two months or a year down the line, but it’s always there.” There may be no exact date as to when Samms’ character will return but fans can expect that she will appear on screen at any time. O’Connor recalled being in a similar situation back when he was working with “One Life to Live.”

Holly’s hostage dilemma has become an intriguing and exciting cliffhanger. It’s not surprising that fans want to know who has her and why. Is her kidnapper a man or a woman? Is he/she working alone? Does Holly know her kidnapper? There are so many questions left unanswered.

Since there’s no specific date for Holly’s much-anticipated return, fans can only try to figure out who’s holding her hostage. So far, the possible suspects are as follows: Cassandra Pierce (Jessica Tuck), Helena Cassadine (Constance Towers), Cesar Faison (Anders Hove), Alexandra Devane (Finola Hughes), Peter August (Wes Ramsey), and Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober).
