Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: Abigail And Chad Begin Couples Therapy, Too Much Water Under The Bridge?

Days of Our Lives spoilers tease that in Salem Abigail and Chad DiMera (Marci Miller, Billy Flynn) will soon begin couples’ therapy in an upcoming episode of Days of Our Lives, but the big question is, will it work, or is there too much water under the bridge?

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – The DiMeras Have Weathered Some Huge Challenges

Longtime Days of Our Lives viewers know that the DiMeras have weathered some huge challenges. Abigail had been diagnosed with dissociative identity disorder a few years ago and her alters caused a lot of disruption in their marriage, but that is not all. Others have interfered between the two of them, including Abigail’s one-time friend Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus). When their baby girl was born, Abby had altered the paternity test, leading them to believe that Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) was the father instead of Chad!

Julie Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes) had helped expose that deception, although she took quite a tumble down the stairs at the Kiriakis mansion in the process! One of Abigail’s alters, “Gabby” had become involved with Stefan, but as Abigail healed and realized what she had done, she faked her illness in order to get her baby back and expose Gabi’s fraud. Once they were through that hurdle, they spent some time way from Salem as Chad ran the Paris, France office of DiMera Enterprises. Even there they had some problems with interfering outsiders, including a woman who worked for DiMera who tried to compete with Abigail for Chad’s affections!

They had weathered those storms, then again returned to Salem, and had some peace, but then Chad’s father Stefano DiMera (Joseph Mascolo) returned, just not in his own body! Dr. Wilhelm Rolf (William Utay) had wanted Stefano to live on but had to find a new body – Steve Johnson’s (Stephen Nichols)! He hypnotized Chad into doing his bidding, which caused more problems, and soon afterwards Abigail was drugged and started hallucinating! It turned out later that Abigail had a half sister, Gwen Rizchech (Emily O’Brien) who had drugged her and Abigail spent time in a clinic in Florida!

DOOL Spoilers – Gwen Rizchech Has Caused A Lot Of Damage To The DiMera Marriage And Relationship

Days of Our Lives viewers will recall that Gwen has caused a lot of damage to the DiMera marriage and Chad and Abigail’s relationship, most of it on purpose! She even got Chad drunk and seduced him, and bragged about it to Abigail! Most damaging of all, however, was the death of Laura Horton, (Jaime Lyn Bauer) which Abigail blames on Gwen! Her anger and retaliation against Gwen have caused even more problems between her and Chad, but Gwen is mainly responsible for causing the distrust between the couple of each other! She won’t forgive Gwen and has had a hard time forgiving Chad.

Chad, on the other hand, has had a hard time trusting Abigail, after Gwen had been putting seeds of doubt in his mind. She had Chad convinced that Abigail and Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) were having an affair! So obviously, the main problem that the couple has is with trust. Both have been much too willing to believe the worst of each other, even though Gwen has been feeding that distrust on both sides for the most part! The success or failure of the DiMera’s marriage is largely dependent upon them, and their willingness to forgive and give the other another chance!
