Young And The Restless Spoilers: Doug Davidson Teases His Return

“The Young and the Restless” fans have stormed social media when the news that Doug Davidson is finally coming back to reprise his role as Paul Williams. In a recent interview, Doug teases about Paul’s return to the canvas and whether he is back on contract and more.

Paul Williams was last seen in Genoa City on September 19, 2018, and his disappearance was not explained in any way. Now, it has been revealed that he will be seen again on March 25.

“I can tell you Paul tries to make everything right in lickety-split time. There is no explanation of his absence. As someone said, maybe he was just on a very long coffee break,” Davidson said.

However, Doug revealed that he is not on contract and that was not on the table for now. “But I was assured I’d be treated with respect and I trust the people in charge now enough to let me know if there are winds of change,” he said.

Not being on contract is not an issue for Davidson now, as he looks at the advantages. “I can also have stuff side on the side. I can travel. The daily grind of it is very difficult. The commute, the line load,” he said. “And I’ve been reevaluating my personal priorities at this stage of my life also. So, I think we are in a good place.”

He thanked the fans of “The Young and the Restless” and all who supported his character because that’s what made it possible for him to return. He extends his gratitude to all who have been gracious in getting the word out and supporting Bill Bell’s legacy. He added that the personal support he received also pulled him up in “some of the darkest days” is his career. “Personally and professionally I can not thank you enough.”

He was offered to return right after the social media storm of his disappearance on Y&R happened, but at that time he told the management he was not interested to return.

With Josh Griffith and Tony Morino at the helm as head writer and executive producer, respectively, Davidson has been open to come back. Josh and Tony have been with Y&R for a long time, and they know the characters and the people of the show.
