It’s been two weeks since The Talk came back on air after the controversies that surrounded Sharon Osbourne’s choice of words and behavior to her co-hosts, both past, and present, on the show. Amid the controversies over her conduct on the show, Sharon Osbourne decided to leave the show. In the wake of Sharon Osbourne’s exit, Carrie Ann Inaba has also announced her leave from the show, but thankfully, it will only be a temporary absence.
Carrie Ann Inaba Takes A Measured Leave From The Talk For Health Reasons
According to Carrie Ann Inaba, viewers of the show will not get to hear her voice in the coming episodes of the popular American chat show The Talk. She cited health complications as the reason behind her temporary leave when she tweeted the news to fans on April 26.
“Hi, everyone. So I wanted to let you know personally, that I have decided to take a leave of absence from The Talk to focus on my well-being,” the 53-year-old dancer who joined The Talk in 2019 wrote. “I know you guys understand, health is the most important thing, so, I appreciate your support. I appreciate the love and support from The Talk family, and I hope to be back soon. Take care and I’ll keep you updated thank you.”
Inaba quickly received replies from her famous friends on her post which she tagged #autoimmunewarrior #healthfirst and #toughchoices. Kelly Ripa, Patti Stanger, Chrishell Stause, and more offered their supportive message to Inaba.
Sheryl Underwood, who is a co-host on The Talk, also shared the news of Inaba’s absence: “We’d like to let you all know at home Carrie Ann is taking a leave of absence from the show to focus on her well-being. She appreciates the support from all her fans and her family right here at The Talk. Carrie Ann, we miss you and we look forward to having you back with us soon.”
Inaba formerly took leave back in March when she announced that she started experiencing pains. “Not sure exactly what’s been happening, but my arms started to go numb, and I was having sharp shooting pains as well, as well as the normal pain that I have every day which is pretty much getting unbearable,” she said while lying in bed. “So, I’ve taken a few days off The Talk.”

Carrie Anne Inaba’s Struggle With Chronic Illnesses
Inaba has been open about her struggle with auto-immune diseases, also announcing in December 2020 that she had tested positive for COVID-19. She said at the time that she suffered a fever, a bad cough, and lots of aches and pains. She ended her message by informing people to be vigilant and follow protocols to avoid getting the virus.
Earlier this year, she shared her journey to health and her health challenges, “I’ve been diagnosed with several autoimmune conditions: lupus, Sjogrën’s, rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, and, most recently, vasculitis. For many years now, my life has been full of ups and downs, and lots of hard work to help me to feel my best, to land at a new normal that’s comfortable and sustainable.”
