Coronation Street: Summer Spellman Gets Diabetes Diagnosis After Collapse

Coronation Street spoilers and updates tease that Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) will get a shock diagnosis after a worrying collapse. Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) and Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) will worry about Summer’s condition but the latter will put on a brave face.

The latter leaves first and makes up an excuse that she has an exam revision to make. When Billy and Todd return home, they find an unconscious Summer, who has collapsed after suffering a dizzy spell.

Summer is horrified when she learns that Todd and Billy think she has an eating disorder. Billy tries to reassure her but Summer faints again. So, they take her to the hospital and get some blood tests done. All three are in for a shock when the doctor tells them that Summer has type one diabetes.

Coronation Street – Summer Spellman Receives Shock Diagnosis

Summer struggles to accept her diagnosis and the fact that she has to take injections in order to manage her health condition. She tries to be brave in front of Todd and Billy and tells them that the doctor has given her instructions on how to check her blood sugar and inject insulin.

Todd Grimshaw Wants To Move Back In With Billy Mayhew

Upcoming scenes will show Todd tell Billy that he wants to move back into the flat. However, the latter puts everything on hold, including Todd’s request, because she feels that it isn’t the best time to talk about it because of Summer’s current condition.

After they learn about Summer’s diabetes diagnosis, Billy reconsiders Todd’s request, which leaves the latter feeling thrilled. Can Summer adapt or will she struggle with her new life?
