The Young and the Restless spoilers document that Ashland Locke (Richard Burgi) stated that he received a dire health diagnosis. His tell to Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) in New York also included a time limit. He was said to only have six months to live. But was he telling the truth?
Victoria was naturally affected by what she learned. In addition to being drawn to the prospect of merging with his company, she was also falling for the guy at that point in the plot.
So, what would Ashland have to gain if he isn’t being honest?
Young And The Restless Spoilers – Sally Spectra Said She Was Dying
Sally Spectra (Courtney Hope) and Ashland aren’t colleagues or friends. This is daytime. So, she could eventually be revealed as his unknown child. But let’s assume the Lockeness Monster purely shares personality traits with the crossover character from The Bold and the Beautiful.
As B&B fans witnessed, Sally faked a terminal condition as part of her plot to win Wyatt Spencer’s (Darin Brooks) love. She lost that game and was forced to leave Los Angeles, California.
The outcome for Sally was harsh. But she wasn’t betrayed by a spouse, didn’t learn that a perceived son wasn’t her own, and didn’t have her eyes on merging her family’s fashion business with Newman Enterprises.
Y&R Spoilers – Mixing Revenge And Business
Tara Locke (Elizabeth Leiner) and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) were stunned that Ashland caved so quickly. He agreed to a mutually agreeable custody arrangement as part of the divorce proceedings. They believed that Ashland’s diagnosis influenced the decision, along with his feelings for Harrison Locke’s (Kellen Enriquez) best interests.
If Ashland is lying, then it’s easy to see why he’s playing a vile game of possum. Tara is legally cut off from Ashland’s wealth source and a legally approved tie to Newman Enterprises’ vast empire is gained, among other advantageous results.
Jabot has long been one of Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) targeted companies. By merging with Newman, Ashland obtains the ability to go after Kyle and his family’s company in a way that wouldn’t be possible by solely using the Locke Communications Group’s resources.

The Young And The Restless Spoilers – Episode-Ender Reveal Day
At some point Y&R will confirm if Ashland is telling the truth. It would seem that Heinle’s character is positioned to potentially gain that knowledge first. However, a variety of other characters could easily break the secret.
Then again, Ashland has a flair for the dramatic. So, he would seem the most likely to claim a miraculous remission or state that he’s free of cancer entirely.
There will be repercussions If TPTB have entered this dark road, in actually having a character pretend to be dying from this particular disease. That specific diagnosis makes Ashland’s situation different than Sally’s sketchy claim on B&B.
Hopefully Ashland isn’t lying and actually achieves remission. Burgi has been a fine addition to the cast, with his character stirring the drink hard in Genoa City, Wisconsin.

I think Ashland is pulling a fast one on Victoria and his wife Tara, he isn't dying of
cancer, he is going after something huge and take it right from under Victoria and
she won't know till it hits her and what she has to do is backtrack him before that
happens if she can. Victoria should've listened to her parents and Billy he is no good
she had dreams for a wedding and don't think that will happen now after they are
fooled.
If Victoria is any thing like her dad, Ashland might think he is fooling Victoria but the joke might be on him. Motto, keep your enemies close.
