British Royal family news reveals Meghan Markle and Prince Harry just inked a lucrative book deal that may cause them to trump former President Barak Obama and his wife former First Lady Michelle Obama.
The former President and previous First Lady each penned a best-seller. And those books continue to top best-selling lists by offering insights into their fascinating lives.
Barack Obama penned “A Promised Land,” volume 1 of his presidential memoirs. In turn, Michelle Obama authored “Becoming,” her own memoir covering her life and her time in the White House.
But now one royal couple appears posed to outdo them. Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex, and Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, reportedly will write a total of four books!
Looks as if the Duchess and Duke will make good use of that library in their 16-bathroom, 9-bedroom Montecito, California mansion! (But don’t worry about them getting out of shape while spending so much time writing. The home also features a tennis court, gym, and pool).
Prince Harry’s Book Deal Better Than Initial Reports
News that Prince Harry would write a book limited the deal to a single volume.
But now a new report has quadrupled that contract. A source quoted by Page Six revealed that Harry and Meghan both are involved in the deal.
Inked with the prestigious Penguin Random House, the contract reportedly features a memoir by Harry. Initially, one insider claimed that Harry had agreed to write a second book “when his granny dies.”
However, a different source denied that the Duke of Sussex had agreed to pen any type of book linked to the death of Queen Elizabeth, calling such a concept “appalling.”
The memoir is currently slated for release toward the end of 2022. But Harry’s book is only part of the four-book contract.
Meghan Markle To Take Different Approach To Her Book As Prince Harry SHOCKS Publishing Insiders!
Known for her fondness for yoga and healthy eating, Meghan reportedly will pen a book in the wellness category as part of the four-book deal.
Beyond Prince Harry’s memoir and Markle’s healthy living book, though, details of the other two books have not leaked.
But the real bombshell comes from a publishing insider. Prince Harry reportedly stunned the book publishing company with his tactics in negotiating the deal.

“He had a very ‘take it or leave it’ attitude,” revealed the source. “Those involved were actually very shocked by his approach, which was to look at them coldly and state his demands: $25 million.”
That “take it or leave it” approach even may have included refusing to travel for in-person negotiations. Prince Harry reportedly conducted the entire negotiation process from his mansion in California.
As to the nature of the Duke of Sussex’s memoir? Page Six also cited arguments among insiders as to the contents.
One source claims that the memoir, valued at $20 million memoir, is NOT intended to become a book of slams against the royal family. Instead, Prince Harry is just wanting to tell “his truth” in writing the book, according to that insider.
But another source disagreed.
“On what planet does Harry think that this is not a ‘f–k you’ to the family?” demanded that insider.
And we’ll have to wait and see if insiders also reveal whether Meghan Markle’s wellness book could turn into a separate set of slams against the royal family. Be sure and check back on our site for all your royal family news and updates!
