General Hospital News: Special 56th Anniversary Episode Preview – Exciting Returns

General Hospital spoilers tease that General Hospital will celebrate its 56th anniversary with a very special episode! It will air on Tuesday, April 2nd, and will feature a look back through the years, with many classic scenes from throughout the show’s history. It will also reunite some past and present cast members.

The background of the episode will focus on the second part of Gail Baldwin’s (Susan Brown) will being read, and friends and family who she wanted to be at her final celebration, among them Dr. Lesley Webber (Denise Alexander).

The sneak peek video released on General Hospital’s Twitter page begins with Dr. Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson), with Nurse Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman) beside her. Monica talks about how much the hospital has changed in the past 56 years, as classic scenes from the past are shown.

General Hospital News – Several Walks Down Memory Lane

First up is Dr. Steve Hardy (John Beradino), in an early scene shown in black and white. Then a scene from Scotty Baldwin (Kin Shriner) and Laura Webber’s (Genie Francis) first wedding is shown. Then, as Bobbie in the present day says: “I think we like the drama maybe a little bit,” a classic scene is shown of Dr. Lesley Webber slapping Monica in the face! This was probably during the time Dr. Rick Webber (Chris Robinson) couldn’t make up his mind whether he wanted Monica or Lesley.

Longtime General Hospital viewers will recall that Lesley won out. Then we come back to the present day with Monica and Lesley walking down a hallway at General Hospital. Bobbie is shown hugging someone in obvious distress.

The last scene shows Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright) and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) dancing, as Carly in the present day says in the background: “And we’re still here after all this time!” Sonny is shown, saying: “Thank God for General Hospital!”
