The actor was last seen in season 8 and fans are wondering if he’ll return to the show. Gemmil teased that Cambor may finally make his much-awaited return sooner than expected.

“We almost brought him back on a recent occasion, and it didn’t work out for various reasons,” Gemmil said.

“But we have talked about him coming back specifically this year, because of what Callen’s going through,” he continued.

Hetty Lange’s Secret Mission

Gemmil teased that he could make a surprise return later on as Hetty Lange (Linda Hunt) deals with her problem in Syria. Viewers may recall that in the previous season, Hetty embarked on a private mission and could only communicate with her team via video chat. The group eventually learned that Hetty was away from her crew because she was negotiating the release of agents who pretended as journalists in Syria.
