Grey’s Anatomy: Ellen Pompeo And Denzel Washington Drama

Grey’s Anatomy spoilers reveal that Ellen Pompeo is opening up about the drama that she had with Denzel Washington on the set of Grey’s Anatomy. It is clear that Ellen doesn’t like to handle bad attitudes and she won’t take any lip from anyone. It seems that she also doesn’t like it when people tell her what to do, no matter who they are.

Ellen Pompeo has been sharing a lot with her fans lately. She is now doing a podcast called, Tell Me and in the latest episode, she was joined by Patrick Dempsey to talk about life and acting. Ellen wanted to share a story with listeners about her screaming match with Denzel Washington. She was supposed to direct the episode with producer, Debbie Allen. The pair were looking for some ways to keep him entertained once the cast left.

She told Patrick, “He came probably three weeks prior so he could get caught up, because Denzel doesn’t watch much TV, he’d probably never seen the show. He did the show because his wife is a big fan… I think he saw it as a good exercise to just come in and direct something quick. But, imagine Denzel Washington coming on to direct an episode of Grey’s Anatomy? That’s something that I never thought that I would see, ever.”

Ellen continued to talk about how Denzel didn’t really know much about directing an episode of the show. He is a superstar to her and she felt as if things didn’t work the way they do for films and for superstars. Directing television is much different and Ellen just knew that things would be challenging for him.

The drama began when the scene started and Ellen had to pretend to not speak. She had her jaw wired shut because of an accident. The actor who she was speaking to wouldn’t look at her in the eyes and she asked him to. Then Denzel made sure to tell her that wasn’t in the script and she needed to follow the dialogue. This is when she told him that he does not tell her what to do when she is acting. She told him that this was her show and that he would not tell her what to do!

Ellen did tell listeners that she and Denzel actually have a great relationship after that day and there have been no more problems between them.
