Speaking to Soap Opera Digest about why this is, Carlivati explained this aspect of the storyline.

Days of Our Lives spoilers reveal that even though John finds out quickly, the story is not going to be rushed. The scribe teased,

“Look for the story to move along at a pretty good clip. We are not rushing anything by any means – we are having so much fun with the story – but it was important to us that John not look stupid here, so he starts to suspect something is wrong with her pretty soon.”

DOOL Spoilers – Familiar But Different

A lot of viewers are expecting this to be a recycled storyline. Although some elements are familiar, Carlivati said it’s not going to be the same.

“… we had to come up with other fun things that the devil does that the devil didn’t do before. If the audience thinks, ‘Oh, I’ve seen this story,’ well, you haven’t. There are twists and turns you will not see coming.”
