Royal Family News: Prince Andrew Lawyers Seek to Shelve Lawsuit

British royal family news reveals that the man given the nickname “Randy Andy” aka Prince Andrew is the subject of a sexual assault lawsuit brought against him in New York City. As the case awaits a trail date royal experts are speculating on the strategy to be used by Prince Andrew and his lawyers.

Could they be working to have his lawsuit overturned on the basis of a royal formality? It looks like that to at least one expert.

According to US lawyer Andrew Brettler this is thought to be a legal strategy based on what is being called the Epstein agreement. This is in reference to the late convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein. He was Prince Andrew’s friend and plaintiff Virginia Giuffre claims she was sex trafficked by Epstein to Andrew.

This so-called Epstein agreement apparently, “would no longer be allowed to present any future lawsuits against Epstein or anyone associated with him,” according to Geo TV.

What is the Agreement in Place That Could Change Andrew’s Lawsuit Status?

Prince Andrew initially appeared to duck the serving of papers to him in the case, but that has changed with his agreement that he has been duly served the legal documents. Since then according to the outlet, “a reference to the word ‘royalty’ has been made and some believe this may free the Duke from any and all potential liability.”

It appears that he is trying to use his royal status to somehow be freed from the constraints of the law as it pertains in this matter.

Queen Elizabeth is Paying Her Son’s Legal Bills

That of course is up for a court to decide. But according to Express, “the defence is expected to jump at this finding to nullify Ms. Giffre’s claim.” In the meantime other controversial news hit last week and it has to do with the case and Andrew’s mother.

His mother Queen Elizabeth is said to be paying all of his legal bills in this case and that did not sit well with a sizeable portion of the public. For one thing he is a grown man with kids and grandkids so the thought of his mom paying his bills is preposterous to many.

Secondly, the nature of the case is seen to be an unseemly matter for the queen to be involved in.
