Hallmark has established a tradition of airing When Call The Heart holiday specials on Christmas Day, according to Cheat Sheet. But last year, fans got disappointed when the network cancelled plans as a result of the COVID-19 lock-down guidelines.

So will Hallmark restore that tradition in 2021? At this point, the network has not revealed any plans to treat When Calls The Heart fans to a holiday special. That means for two years in a row, Hallmark has failed to offer viewers a Christmas Day visit to Hope Valley!

However, two possible substitutes could provide good news. First, Hallmark has revealed that When Calls the Heart Season 9 will feature 12 episodes instead of the standard 10-episode limit. And second, a similarly popular show will feature an exciting holiday special. Get the scoop below! 

Lori Loughlin Returns In When Hope Calls Xmas Special

For Hallmark fans hoping for a 2021 When Calls the Heart holiday special, a two-part Christmas episode of the When Calls the Heart spin-off series “When Hope Calls” could turn into the perfect substitute! The second season of When Hope Calls debuts on December 18 with the two-part holiday-themed show. However, it will air on GAC Family rather than Hallmark. 

And the spoilers hint at a heart-warming experience! “When Hope Calls: A Country Christmas” will reveal Brookfield’s residents working on a holiday festival. The town has focused on earning the prize title of America’s Number One Country Christmas Town. But one young lad at an orphanage hasn’t gotten into the Christmas spirit. Watch for a secret Santa’s arrival to save the holiday from a Grinch-like misery!

Fans of actress Lori Loughlin will especially want to watch the When Hope Calls Christmas special episodes. The show will provide Lori with her very first opportunity to take up her acting career again after the college admission scandal. In the wake of that scandal, Loughlin served time in prison. Now, however, the actress has complete her jail sentence and is ready to shine as a star once more.

The “When Hope Calls: A Country Christmas” special will feature Lori as Abigail Stanton. Other appearances in the episodes include Abigail’s adopted son Cody (Carter Ryan) and When Calls the Heart alum Daniel Lissing.
