The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Gina Tognoni Speaks Out On Unexpected YR Exit

The Young and the Restless spoilers indicate that Gina Tognoni (Phyllis Summers) is keeping as positive as she possibly can as she prepares to say good-bye to a character that she’s loved and helped bring to life for the last five years.

While it’s no doubt that Gina is having a hard time letting go, she’s trying to remain as professional and as calm as possible as she counts down to her last days on the set of The Young and the Restless. Here’s what you need to know.

It’s been an emotional period, to say the least. Gina was told that her contract with the soap wouldn’t be renewed last month and ever since then, she’s been preparing for her departure. It hasn’t been easy for the beautiful brunette.

According to Soaps in Depth, Gina had this to say, “Here we go. Starting in our journey, walking in peace with my Phyllis. Each day is precious to me here in L.A. I am still giving life to this character for a few more weeks and episodes. Filled with love as we count down and continue our story in new ways. I always sit in my dressing room and feel peaceful and centered. It’s special.”

Now, what’s in store for Phyllis in the coming weeks remains to be seen. For now, it appears as though her life is falling apart in more ways than one, too. She’s been dumped by her man Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow), Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) wants nothing to do with her, her daughter Summer Newman (Hunter King) is upset with her for almost destroying her marriage and she’s struggling financially.

With that being said, we have a feeling that Phyllis Summers will find a way to get through this, no matter how much effort it takes. She always does. It will also be interesting to see how Michelle Stafford will transition into the role and if better days are ahead for Phyllis Summers. She might be a selfish person, but she’s not completely evil, right? Of course, fans will simply have to tune in to find out what will happen next.
