British royal family news teases that the monarchy is in transition. So much has happened in recent history that only the staunchest of royal fanatics could deny the sea changes that have taken place. For starters, Megxit was the stink bomb that fouled the air in and around the palace. Both Princes Charles and William are reported to have contracted and recovered from COVID. In April Prince Philip died. In October Queen Elizabeth was hospitalized with an undisclosed illness.
As the year winds to an end, one royal expert is looking ahead, not behind. What does she see for the clan? A changing of the guard so to speak.
Royal Family News – Prince William Is The Most Likeable Royal?
Daniela Elser claims that, “On Friday, the social media accounts of William and wife Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge shared a seven-minute video of him in conversation with two frontline workers in the UK, the same day he launched a mental health support package for staff and volunteers with the UK’s emergency response service 999.”
She went on singing his praises: “Charming, genuinely warm and totally natural, there is nothing forced about his chat with paramedic workers Chloe Taylor, 24, and Will Parish, 27.”
“The 39-year-old is really having a moment and we are seeing him emerge not only as a surprisingly dynamic future leader but as an eminently likeable person.”

Royal Family News – Is William The Monarchy’s Salvation?
As such she believes William is the nearest thing to a cure-all for a monarchy rocked by defections and scandal. This year he launched his EarthShot Prize contest, presented a six-episode TV series, spoke at the COP26 climate conference and walked the red carpet at the Bond premiere stealing the thunder from the show’s stars. It didn’t hurt that Kate Middleton was on his arm.
It also doesn’t hurt that his nearest competitor, father Prince Charles, is something of a fuddy duddy in the public’s collective eye. “Given the listless reception his father Prince Charles will likely receive when he finally takes the throne, whoever comes after him is nearly guaranteed to seem like an improvement,” Elser notes. “William was always going to come off looking like an appealing regal option in contrast to his signet-ring twiddling, plant-muttering father.”
In other words, William is on a roll and the best thing to have happened to the monarchy in a long, long time.
