British royal family news reveals that disgraced Prince Andrew may have torpedoed what would have normally been a privilege for another royal following in his footsteps. These days it seems no one wants to be associated with the toxicity he is linked to, but little Prince Louis is in direct line to inherit something from Andrew. Will it be nixed due to Andrew’s fall from grace?
Royal Family News – Will Andrew’s Title Be Scrapped Just Like Him?
Prince Louis is the second and youngest son of Prince William and Kate Middleton, and one of the Queen’s great-grandchildren. Due to his placement in the royal line, he is due to become Duke of York, a title held by Andrew. Royal expert Daniela Elser believes that this will not happen.
Prince Andrew became Duke of York in 1986 when he married Sarah Ferguson. The royal expert thinks that giving the title to Louis would be a thankless gesture and not at all appreciated given that Andrew’s name is now synonymous with mud.
Royal Family News – Will Andrew’s Title Be Given To Prince Louis?
The Dukedom of York is a title granted to a monarch’s second son, such as in the case of Andrew. This means when Prince William ascends to the throne, Prince Louis is expected to become Duke of York. Uh oh. Daniela suggested that the title has become “poisonous” due to its link to Andrew who has a sexual assault trail due to start in fall.
Daniela said, “Traditionally, the title of Duke of York has gone to the monarch’s second son, a custom that dates back to the 14th century when King Edward III got the idea in his head and gave it to his son Edmund of Langley.”
Royal Family News – The Duke Of York Title Is Retired?
She added, “Like his uncle David and his toxic Duke of Windsor title, today, I think we can confidently say the current Duke of York will also be the last, so poisonous has the title become.”

Prince Andrew’s bid to have Virginia Giuffre’s civil case against him tossed out last week resulted in the swift revocation of his titles and patronages. He is persona non grata in the monarchy. The palace made it a point to say that he will defend his case as a “private citizen.” Andrew has denied the allegations against him, which are sexual assault of a sex trafficked minor.
Andrew has been stripped of his royal patronages and military honors, as well as his HRH title. But he remains a Prince and still has his Duke of York title. Will the title retire with him? That’s up to the queen who is set to celebrate her Platinum Jubilee just months before Andrew’s case is scheduled to be heard.
