Devon has suffered numerous heartaches in the past year. His most recent tragedy was the death of his father Neil Winters (Kristoff St. John). Prior to that Devon grieved the loss of his wife Hilary Curtis (Mishel Morgan) and their unborn child.

Devon’s world was torn apart by losing Hilary. It took time, but he was able to start moving on. He’s found himself falling in love with Elena Dawson (Brytni Sarpy). While Devon feels that he’s ready to move on with Elena, he’s haunted by Hilary’s ghost.

Young And The Restless Spoilers: Hilary Curtis’ Spirit Keeps Popping Up

Hilary’s spirit keeps popping up whenever Devon’s with Elena. From the looks of it, Hilary isn’t pleased with her husband moving with another woman.

Seeing Hilary’s ghost has unnerved Devon. He believes that Hilary is angry with him, and his guilt will increase. Even though Devon wants to move on, he can’t escape his past. The constant reminders of Hilary will cause him to lose control.

Devon did turn to pills at one point to ease his pain and grief. An intervention from his family made him give up the pills and keep his addiction from spiraling out of control.

But could Devon suffer a relapse?

With Hilary’s spirit haunting him, Devon isn’t going to be at peace. He’ll be reminded of their time together, what he loss, and the family they could’ve had together. Devon will feel guilt that he’s here, but his wife and son aren’t. He’ll feel that he doesn’t deserve happiness and need to be alone for the rest of his life.

As Devon becomes more unstable, it’s going to affect his relationship with Elena. He’ll try to push her away, but she’s not going anywhere. Elena knows about Devon’s pain and she doesn’t want to abandon him in his time of need.

Devon’s ordeal will either make him and Elena stronger as a couple, or they’ll either break them up.

In order for Devon to regain control of his life, he needs to have closure. Until then, he’s going to continue to be haunted by Hilary.
