British royal family news shows that some royal watchers are stunned at the monarchy’s shocking treatment of the queen’s youngest child, Prince Edward the Earl of Wessex and his wife Sophie. Have they been dispensed with at a time when the royal box is slimmer than ever?

According to sources, this is exactly the case and it makes no sense after the defections of Harry and Meghan and the ousting of Andrew. And yet it is claimed that Prince Edward and Sophie, have, “received the clearest sign yet that they will be sidelined when he was snubbed for the prestigious role of royal patron of the National Theatre, despite his well-known love of the stage and his past experience working in the sector.”

There has been no secret of Charles’ wish to make the monarchy more compact, in part to satisfy a public up to their ears in scandalous royal shenanigans all the while footing the bill for the centuries old institution.

Eden said, “Camilla’s appointment at the National Theatre hasn’t been confirmed yet but it’s been rumored. When the Queen gave that patronage to Meghan, it was a really big gesture.” Camilla is Charles’ wife, and of course we know exactly who Meghan is thanks to her telling us.

Eden notes that the queen may have been thinking at the time she handed the reins to Meghan, “what would make Meghan feel welcome, and as a former actress, making her patron of the National Theatre made sense. But there was hardly any time that Meghan was involved in the National Theatre.”

The royal expert told Palace Confidential on Mail Plus, “I would have liked it to have gone to Prince Edward, who loves the theatre, who used to work for Andrew Lloyd Webber. He would have been really enthusiastic. I’m sure Camilla will be great, she loves the theatre too but I just feel they are just sidelining Edward and his family.”

Is this a major snub of Edward and his family? He and his wife have maintained that they want their two children to pursue whatever life path they wish and did not give them prince and princess titles. But still, if it is as Eden thinks, that the entire family is, “not seen as part of the future,” it would have to be hurtful on some level for Edward and Sophie who have stepped up in a large way after Harry, Andrew, and Meghan departed for various reasons.
