British royal family news reveals that last Saturday Queen Elizabeth held a reception at Sandringham to begin the start of the Platinum Jubilee. The event commemorates a seven decade reign and remembers the 70th anniversary of her father’s death.
Now Paul Burrell, the late Princess Diana’s former butler, is speaking out about what he feels lays ahead for the 95-year old monarch who lost her husband of 73 years in 2021.

He spoke on Lorraine with royal photographer Arthur Edwards, and said he was “sad” to see how “frail” the Queen looked in recent public appearances.
Also last Saturday Her Majesty issued a special statement in which she indicated her “sincere wish’” for Camilla to become Queen Consort rather than Princess Consort when Prince Charles becomes King.

Burrell said that the Queen’s recent announcement was bittersweet, claiming that it is clear that she is preparing for her the day her reign comes to an end, by remarking on Charles and Camilla, who will take over upon her passing.
Paul told Lorraine Kelly, “As you know Lorraine, my royal service has been devoted to Her Majesty and to Princess Diana because 11 years with the Queen and 10 years with Diana, that’s quite a time to understand these people. I see what the Queen’s doing – I know she’s preparing a smooth path for the transition of this monarchy to the next monarchy.”

Royal Family News: Prince Charles is the Heir to the Throne
He added, “I was very sad because I saw a frail Queen at Sandringham and I was thinking of the times that I was with her and she was strong and fit and healthy and I realized we’re coming to the end of this monarchy and she does too,” he added.
There has long been a transition plan for the inevitable day when the Queen dies and Charles ascends the throne, as she did 70 years ago upon the passing of her own father. That procedure is a plan called “Operation London Bridge” and it is a comprehensive document in which every detail is spelled out as to what happens when and where when that inevitable moment in history arrives.
