With the suit now settled, questions have arisen surrounding the particulars of the deal. Chief among them is who will pay the settlement? Andrew is unemployed and his financial situation has been documented as unstable.

Royal Family News – There Will Be Few Answers?
Andrew did not admit guilt, rather he said he, “regrets his association with Epstein and commends the bravery of Ms. Giuffre and other survivors in standing up for themselves and others.” Giuffre alleged that Andrew’s friend Epstein sex trafficked her to the prince three times when she was a minor.
Who Will Pay the Settlement?
The palace previously stated that Andrew would defend himself, “as a private citizen.” Does that mean his is responsible for paying the settlement? Although, “both sides agreed not to disclose the amount and Buckingham Palace declined to comment, saying it was a matter for the duke and his lawyers,” the Daily Mail reported the figure to be 7.5 million pounds.
How Andrew funds his lifestyle has been an area of scrutiny prior to the lawsuit. According to an analysis of his finances by the Times of London, Andrew receives an annual stipend of 250,000 pounds ($338,000) from the queen, as well as an annual pension of 20,000 pounds ($27,066) from the Royal Navy.
Andrew’s expenses seem rather large for his “salary.” In addition to security for his residence Royal Lodge, in Windsor, he as to pay for staff to maintain the 30-room house.

Andrew’s legal team has stated they will have nothing more to say about the case so the question of who will pay the settlement may never be known.
