Days of Our Lives spoilers tease that Will Horton (Chandler Massey) and Sonny Kiriakis (Freddie Smith) will be getting remarried in Monday, June 17th’s episode of Days of Our Lives. The pair have had a long and rocky path to happiness, with this marriage being their second to each other. The pair met for the first time in 2011, when Will saw his cousin Abigail Deveraux (Kate Mansi) welcoming Sonny home with a hug. Will quickly learned that the young man also known as Jackson Kiriakis was one of Abby’s cousins.
Sonny was openly gay at the time, but Will was going through a time of coming to terms with his own sexuality. His grandmother, Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) helped him and accepted him when he decided it was time to “come out”. Will had still been involved with women while he was going through his time of questioning, and had a child, Arianna Horton (Sydnee and Harper Udell) with Gabi Hernandez (Camila Banus), and Gabi, Will and Sonny eventually became a solid co-parenting unit.
They became engaged on Valentine’s Day in 2014 with a three day on-air wedding broadcast on Days of Our Lives, with Guy Wilson playing Will back then. Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) walked Will down the aisle, and his father Lucas Roberts (Bryan Datillo) served as best man. Gabi, Abigail, JJ Deveraux (Casey Moss) and Tad Stevens (Brendan Coughlin) stood up for the couple, and Adrienne Kiriakis (Judi Evans) walked Sonny down the aisle. Marlena officiated.
The marriage suffered some distance, however, as Will moved to Los Angeles to further his writing career and the long-distance relationship was difficult to maintain. Paul Narita (Christopher Sean), Sonny’s ex, moved to town in November 2014 and Will got fired and moved back to Salem. Sonny stayed faithful and it was Will who cheated with Paul in January, 2015, and eventually Sonny found out Will cheated on him while in Los Angeles as well, and it was the last straw for Sonny, who then moved to Paris!
Will tried to win Sonny back; but in October 2015 Ben Weston (Robert Scott Wilson) strangled him to death. Sonny returned to Salem for good after a period of mourning and reunited with Paul and got engaged, but Will (again Chandler Massey) was found alive with amnesia in Memphis, but Will was still drawn to Paul instead of to Sonny. Sonny and Will were divorced in March 2018, and Will and Paul got involved again.
It was at that time that Will took the overdose of Dr. Wilhelm Rolf’s (William Utay) amnesia serum which now has caused a rapidly growing brain tumor. It kicked in at Marlena and John Black’s (Drake Hogestyn) August, 2018 wedding and his feelings for Sonny came back although he tried to stay with Paul. Paul eventually realized Will loved Sonny and left town.

Sonny and Will were ready to be together, but then Leo Stark (Greg Rikaart) happened! As Days of Our Lives viewers will recall, he blackmailed Sonny into marrying him, and the day he signed annulment papers, he cursed Will with an “evil eye” curse, which Sonny at first thought caused Will to have a headache and faint, but instead, it was found to be a brain tumor!
Will again proposed to Sonny on June 10, 2019, wanting to make the most of whatever time they may have left with each other, and in Monday’s episode, after an engagement of a whole week (maybe less in soap time!) Marlena will again officiate as Sonny and Will remarry! Stay tuned to Days of Our Lives and keep checking Days of Our Lives spoilers frequently for all the latest news, updates and developments!
