Young And The Restless Spoilers: Michelle Stafford Back With A Bang – Phyllis Takes On Adam Newman

Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) got the dirt she wanted on ‘The Young and the Restless’. Her trip to Las Vegas, Nevada, happened after she broke away from a kidnapper she assumed was Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). That’s why she intends to rile him now.

Of course Phyllis will come to know that Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart) was the abductor who injected her at the Genoa City Athletic Club suite a few weeks ago. Phyllis’ penultimate look as Gina Tognoni (who was completing her terrific run) happened then, with the final view taking place in that bleak cellar where Kevin was keeping her.

Phyllis broke out and drove to Vegas. She returns after having spoken to Riza Thomas (Tina Casciani), who apparently told Phyllis about a connection Adam has to a Chancellor family member. That’s interesting news that may be exploited, or come to some further plot use.

Stafford’s comeback was teased a handful of episodes earlier, where she was shown sitting at a bar. No lines were spoken, but the sight of her was enough to make fans of the original Phyllis smile. The iconic version of ‘Red’ was back, as had been stunningly announced earlier this spring.

The original edition of any longtime character often can’t be topped, but that’s generally not the aim with a recast. This point isn’t lost on devoted Y&R fans who recognize that the first Phyllis is now entangled with the fourth adult Adam.

Chris Engen played Adam in 2008 and 2009. Michael Muhney delivered electric performances from 2009-2014. Justin Hartley turned in his star turn from 2014 through 2016, and now Grossman has arrived. He gets the snark spot on and telegraphs as a solid next choice.

Young And The Restless Spoilers – Gina Tognoni’s Final Episodes

The tease of Adam with Phyllis, during Tognoni’s final episodes, was great. Viewers knew that meant Stafford’s edition and Grossman’s character would at least partner in business, if not on a personal level as well, though that would really be something if it actually happens.

Suffice it to say, Y&R surely shouldn’t allow Phyllis and Adam to only tangle this one time. Instead, keep it going and add ‘Phadam’ if it likes. That duo hasn’t been done and would likely be mesmerizing.
