Young and the Restless News: Gina Tognoni Yearning For A Comeback?

The Young and the Restless news tease that Gina Tognoni (Phyllis Summers) is yearning for a television comeback. Even though it’s been a few short months since we last saw her in Genoa City, her fans are making it pretty clear that they miss seeing her on the hit CBS show. And apparently, Gina feels the same way. Here’s what you need to know.
Young and the Restless News – Gina’s Sudden Departure
Even though Gina herself hasn’t made any comments about her sudden departure or why it happened, she’s managed to keep things very classy. According to some fans, even too classy as they are still very curious to know what happened between her and the producers behind the scenes.
The same weekend it was announced that Gina would be let go from the show, reports also indicated that Michelle Stafford from General Hospital would be replacing her. Everything happened so fast, there was almost no time for fans and viewers to ask any questions.

When a fan wrote to Gina and said, “I am missing you so much on The Young and the Restless. You brought an authenticity and complexity to Phyllis. I hope I see you soon on my TV. Have a great holiday,” the actress couldn’t help but retweet it.
Young and the Restless News – A Daytime Television Comeback In The Works?
Clearly, both Gina and her fans are definitely missing all of her on-camera action. Quite a few other fans left comments such as, “I so echo this tweet. I loved her time as Phyllis and love her whomever she plays,” along with, “You are missed terribly! The show is not the same without you and sadly we are going backwards instead of forward. Take care and hope to see you again soon.”
Unfortunately, producers for The Young and the Restless never stated why Gina was let go and why they made the decision to bring back Michelle. Either way, we have a feeling that we will be seeing Gina back on daytime television in no time. After all, she is one of the most talented actresses in the soap world with a huge following. We definitely have our fingers crossed for her!

I prefer Gina to play Phyllis, rather then Michelle. Don’t really care for the character Phyllis, but I’de rather see Gina playing the part, she makes Phyllis more believable.

Gina did a spectacular job playing Phyllis and should not have been let go. It is a disgrace that she was replaced so the actress who left the part of her own accord could come back! Totally unethical! I hope to see Gina back in the spotlight soon.
Yes yes Yes! She is great! So real , so complexed and so believable. You really believed that she was Phyllis warts and all. I will not watch as often, even though I previously liked Ms. Stafford who kinda excelled in the role, but Gina took it to another level.

The new Phyllis is horrible…bring back Gina…her version of Phyllis was so believable and she played the part exceptionally well!

The reason is the show was losing viewers. The writing was horrible and the show became unrecognizable. With the exception of Gina most of the new actors and storylines weren’t connecting with viewers. I almost stopped watching until they said they were getting rid of that producer and actors like Eric Braeden, Doug Davidson and Christian LeBlanc will come back and/or remain on the show.
She needs to be on GH!
