Young and the Restless Spoilers: Phyllis Continues To Struggle – Michelle Stafford’s Character Nothing Like Gina Tognoni’s

The Young and the Restless spoilers tease that Michelle Stafford (Phyllis Summers) has fit right back into the cast she’d been part of for many years before voluntarily exiting in 2013. But her revived alter ego is having a much harder time than expected in Genoa City, Wisconsin.
Phyllis (as then played by the departing Gina Tognoni, a great actor in her own right) was kidnapped by Kevin Fisher (Greg Rikaart). He had no beef with Phyllis, but thought that she was Adam Newman’s (Mark Grossman) girlfriend. Stopping right there, or rather forcefully halting, underscores why Phyllis is experiencing so many problems upon her return to town.
After alienating family members and few friends, Phyllis thought she would be able to reignite her life. Yet earlier efforts since Red escaped from Kevin’s dungeon, took a trip to Las Vegas, Nevada, and subsequently returned haven’t been good.

Phyllis recently told Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson), after he called her out, that she wasn’t Adam’s girlfriend and is actually working to stop him. It seems like Y&R may be writing Kevin to an apology pairing with Phyllis in this regard, as he implied to Michael Baldwin (Christian Le Blanc) that he’s going to get out from under Adam’s thumb by bringing him down.
On the family front, Phyllis has been unable to connect with Summer Newman (Hunter King). She feels betrayed by her mom and is still off-balance because of her failed, eye blink marriage to Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor). Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) wants nothing to do with Summer’s mother and the lady he was living with until a handful of months ago. Again, that goes to the Adam connection.

Michael and Lauren Fenmore (Tracey Bregman), easily Phyllis’ two best friends, were riled by Phyllis before she was kidnapped. Lauren, in particular, couldn’t believe that she was trying to steal from Jabot, which is Fenmore’s business partner.
Getting into recently with Christine Williams (Lauralee Bell) isn’t smart. With Paul Williams (Doug Davidson) still serving as the Chief of Police, Phyllis’ aim to prod Cricket is misguided.
Phyllis may be able to stop Adam, with or without Kevin’s help. But even if she does there’s no certainty that everyone who she wants to impress will care. Thwarting a villain won’t serve to instantly restore trust. So Phyllis, as again played by the ever-stellar Stafford, needs to prepare for a long road back into the hearts of the small number of people who care for her, or at least did at one time.

Gina Tognoni
I don’t like how Michelle Stafford portrays Phyllis. I don’t care if she was the original Phyllis, it seems like she is trying too hard and “overacting” the part since she came back. I can’t stand those “facial expressions” that she makes!! Gina Tognoni was such a better actress for the portrayal of Phyllis, she was such a natural fit. Miss her! Sure hate it that they let her go!
Want Gina back as Phyllis
a lot of drama Adam too hard show a nicer guy.
Gina
Gina Tognoni
I think Gina Tagoni played Phyllis so much better i think they should bring her back soon
GINA—bring her back to be Phyllis
nicer guy I like it when he is mean, kind of remind me how his old dad Victor
was , he sure changed after coming back and most fan’s want him to just
disappear but he isn’t going anywhere so you’re stuck with him.
this Phyllis is a dirty player and the other one was too, so how about having two
Phyllis’s here playing the role, it seems like all the fan’s want the original one back,
why don’t you just go with this Phyllis now that’s playing the role, she is doing great
but I can’t wait for Adam to catch on what her and Kevin are up to and he will soon.
I miss Gina’s Phylis, and Michelle’s Nina, over at GH. Michelle can say nothing at all and ‘mean business’! What s blessing she’s been given.
Gina Tognoni for Phyllis is, by far the Best!
I like Gina’s Phyllis much better than Michelle’s version. Gina could be more evil and believable. Michelle is trying too hard and is not making it believable. They should never of gotten rid of Gina.
Good idea! I could go for a way to bring back Gina.
Bring Gina back!
Can’t stand Michelle. Her expressions are creepy and her wardrobe is ridiculous for someone her age.
This Phyllis sucks. And the dresses she wears. Come on can’t she find her size.
Gina, PLEASE.
Can’t relate to this Phyllis at all. This is a completely different character with no similarities to the one we have been following for the last 5 years.
This is a no from me
Please bring Gina back…….I love Michelle, but Gina is the better Phyllis.
Please bring Gina back! The day Michelle Stafford came on air on the Y&R is the day I stopped watching the Y&R. Michelle Stafford isn’t the same character she was way back before she left the show. She’s a terrible actress. Gina is so much better in so many ways. Y&R ….you made a big mistake bringing Michelle back!! Now fix it !!!!
I used to like Michelle as Phyllis, after I got used to Gina I thought she was much better as the character. Now that Michelle is back I have to agree she is badly overacting. Her expressions are weird and downright scary. Bring back Gina!!
Bring Gina back. Michelle needs to rethink her wardrobe. Too old to dress like a hooker. Her acting is atrocious. Please Gina back. Put Michelle as her mother.
Please bring Gina back. This Phyllis is a donkeys ass And this Adam is a pig!
Amen soap sis* I agree 100%
