Bold And The Beautiful News: Patrika Darbo Shares Cancer Diagnosis

Patrika Darbo, who is best known for her roles as Nancy Wesley on “Days of Our Lives” and as Margot on “Acting Dead,” shared that she was diagnosed with skin cancer. She also took to Instagram not just to reveal this important news but to also encourage her followers to use sunscreen and to be mindful of the effects of constantly being exposed to the sun for long periods of time.

Darbo, who is also known for her work as Shirley Spectra on “The Bold and the Beautiful,” revealed that skin cancer was discovered on her nose. She also shared that when she had her cancer surgically removed, her doctors discovered that she had more than what they previously thought. She took this opportunity to let her followers know how important it is to wear sunscreen. Darbo said that she uses sunscreen regularly but unfortunately, it wasn’t enough for her. She advised her fans to do everything they can to protect their skin.

In her post, she said, “I always wear sunscreen. I always wear a hat, I reapply regularly and yet here I am. I can’t stress enough use sunscreen.” Darbo wants her experience to be a reminder to everyone to never take skin cancer lightly. Wearing sunscreen, as simple as it seems, can help protect you from this life-threatening condition.

It didn’t take too long for her fellow daytime stars to express their support for Darbo. Jen Lilley of “Days of Our Lives said “Oh my gosh! Patrika! I had no idea. Hang in there! Praying over and over for you” while Jordi Vilasuso of “The Young and the Restless” said “Healing for you.” Bobbie Eakes of “Bobby Eakes” chimed in and said “Patrika my dear! Thinking of you and hoping for your speedy recovery. Thanks for the reminder.”

Despite her cancer diagnosis, Darbo is still keeping herself busy. A lot of exciting projects have been lined up for the actress. She recently completed a short film titled “Open House” and she’s currently filming a new comedy series called “Aunty Cissy.” The former has no release date yet while the latter is expected to be released on January 23, 2020.
