At first he’ll think the antidote given Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey) has fully worked until he realizes Sarah’s still a few years behind and she asks to see Mackenzie Horton aka Rachel Black (now Finley Rose Slater)!

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Sarah Horton Doesn’t Remember Her Baby Is Dead

Xander and Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) are shocked when they realize that Sarah doesn’t remember her baby is dead. Viewers will remember that Sarah was involved in an automobile accident that killed Adrienne Kiriakis (Judi Evans) as she drove Sarah to the hospital in labor. The baby, a girl, was born alive initially but died in the nursery of Salem University Hospital, and Xander and Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) had switched the baby with Rachel Black.

Sarah was so distaught she couldn’t give up the baby girl who she’d named Mackenzie, “Mickey” for short. She ran away with her to Paris, France where Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) found her in an apartment recently vacated by Chad and Abigail DiMera (Billy Flynn, Kate Mansi).

DOOL Spoilers – Xander Cook And Maggie Kiriakis Don’t Know What To Do

This is a complication that Xander and Maggie didn’t count on, although they are grateful that Sarah at least is beyond a toddler in her memories! But they don’t know what to do or how to handle Sarah wanting to see Mackenzie – they don’t want her to have to relive all the pain of her death. They know that they cannot stall her off but just so long without having to make some kind of explanation. For now, they contact Dr. Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) to let her know what’s going on and where Sarah is in her memory timeline. Kayla will need to do new brain scans to assess if there truly is improvement after the antidote was administered; that will buy them a little time.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – The Brain Scans Show Improvement

Kayla informs Xander and Maggie that Sarah’s brain scans do show some improvement, and the brain damage has partly reversed itself post antidote. They ask her what they should do about her asking for her baby, and Kayla says that might be a Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall) question! She’s not sure if hypnosis would work to bring her memory back all the way since it is a different situation than a purely psychological amnesia case.

Kayla will bring Marlena in on Sarah’s case and they will discuss what, if anything, can be done. They don’t want to bring Rachel in and tell Sarah she’s grown a lot – that would be cruel for Sarah and confusing for Rachel!

DOOL Spoilers – They Need To Decide On A Plan

Marlena comes in to see Sarah and talks to her about various things in a casual manner to assess exactly where she is in her memory timeline. Xander and Maggie were pretty sure because of her love for Xander and not remembering her baby was really Rachel. There was some level of commitment to Xander although there was no talk of engagement and she still believes Mackenzie is alive. Marlena isn’t sure if hypnosis will work to bring the rest of Sarah’s memory back to avoid reliving grief over Mackenzie’s death but she’s willing to give it a try.
