Hollywood news and updates tease that Wendy Williams was eager to step back to her show, but sources don’t support the idea.
“The Wendy Williams Show” is currently hosted by guests when the original host Wendy Williams took medical leave due to some complications of her health condition, including Graves’ Disease. Last February 2022, the production decided to end the daytime talk show after 14 years on air, which will be taken over by Sherri Shepherd’s daytime series.
However, Wendy Williams was assured by the television programming distributor, Debmar-Mercury, that the door will always be open for her anytime she wants to do hosting again once her health is in better condition.

The 57-year-old host recently joined Fat Joe on his Instagram Live and she mentioned that she will be returning to her purple chair. “I’m coming back to ‘The Wendy Williams Show.’ Absolutely. Absolutely.” When asked if she will watch Sherri Shepherd’s upcoming show, the host revealed her love for Shepherd but she’s not going to watch her on TV.
Despite Williams’ eagerness to be back on her daytime show, it would still be impossible according to sources. “Where’s she gonna go? It’s done. Logistically, it won’t work. Sherri has her time slots,” an insider told Page Six. As for her appearance in IG Live with Fat Joe, another insider revealed that Debmar-Mercury was not pleased with her interview as it shows that the “Think Like A Man” star was completely not with herself.
Sherri Shepherd – Expresses Concerns For Wendy Williams
As Shepherd excelled in the field of hosting, the production laid out a talk show of her own, which will begin this Fall of 2022. She was a bag of nerves at first, but now, the 55-year-old comedian is more than ready and excited to finally start her daytime show.

When asked about her thoughts regarding Wendy Williams’ saying that she will not watch her show, Shepherd told ET Canada, “I did hear Wendy say she will not watch me on the new show and that’s okay. You know, I understand. I’m not mad at Wendy. She’s going through a lot.”
“I would say that everyone should be praying for Wendy right now. I’m truly concerned for her because I don’t feel like there’s anybody over there protecting her,” she continued.
