While Deacon (Sean Kanan) didn’t first arrive in Los Angeles just to be with a young Bridget Forrester (then played by Jennifer Finnegan), he was soon paired with her and although she was way too young to marry, that’s exactly what happened. What happened after that is the stuff of soap opera legend.

Young Bridget’s husband fell for young Bridget’s mother and the attraction was mutual. Deacon’s affair with Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) produced the oddly-dressed woman who is now Hope Logan Spencer (Annika Noelle), changing everyone’s life forever.

Deacon and Hope are now growing close as they never were before, despite how much Deacon wanted to know her. He also wanted Brooke, who firmly rejected him for years and still chooses Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye) over him, despite him admitting he still has feelings for her. And then there’s Bridget.

Although Bridget has not had a storyline in years, she is back and working in LA and appearing on the soap on a recurring basis. She is everyone’s favorite doctor, but what is going on with her love life? Nobody has heard a thing about that in years and people have just assumed she is happy but is she?

If she isn’t, her first love can help pick up the pieces of whatever broken heart she might have as they rekindle things. Bridget is all grown up now and played by Ashley Jones and Deacon is certainly a changed man, especially as of late. Yes, he still seems to champion those underdogs, but after a stint in prison, he seems to want to do better, and perhaps now, he will be a better man for Bridget.

After their history and the fact that Bridget’s sister is also Deacon’s daughter, that can make things interesting. But sometimes rekindling things years later when people are older and wiser and know the mistakes they made can work.
