General Hospital Rubs Salt In The Wounds Of Franco And Liz Fans

General Hospital fans are still scratching their heads as to why Franco Baldwin was killed more than a year ago. He was in a popular pairing as the show spent years trying to redeem the character first played by James Franco and they had succeeded.

General Hospital Spoilers – Made A Big Mistake

At this point, GH writers have to know they made a big mistake. While word is Peter August (Wes Ramsey) murdered Franco so that Roger Howarth could return as Todd Manning, the character he started playing on One Life to Live in the 1990s and then moved to GH after OLTL was canceled, those plans were nixed and Austin Gatlin Holt was created.

So far, the character of Austin her been less than overwhelming. After a great start delivering Maxie Jones’ (Kirsten Storms) baby in the woods and challenging the Quartermaines for what he thought he deserved as Jimmy Lee Holt’s son, the character seemed to fade into the background with not much to do except smile at Maxie and try to woo her after learning she lied to him for years. We also recently learned he is a counselor with the PC Pioneers despite not having any kids of his own.

GH Spoilers – Makes Another Mistake In Camping Scenes

Meanwhile, poor tried to move on after her husband died with Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton). She recently realized she wasn’t ready after learning she was plagued by sleeping pills and mental health problems. Still, Finn took Elizabeth’s boys on a camping trip despite her telling him to back off and it all seemed so wrong. Those boys loved Franco and the family they formed when their mother married him. It was bad enough to now see them with the overbearing Finn, but to have Howarth in those scenes as Austin was even more wrong.

While Austin didn’t interact with Cameron Webber (Will Lipton), Jake Webber (Hudson West), and Aiden Spencer (Enzo De Angelis), they were all in one scene together and the wide shot the camera captured as everyone sang camp songs made Friz fans realize what they have been missing since March of 2021 when Franco was killed.

Did GH writers plan it that way or was this just one more oversight in a string of oversights that make the writing disjointed on this show. At least we learned Austin has a secret and a mystery stalker. That’s something, right? Stay tuned to General Hospital
