Prince Harry and Meghan Advised Find New Branding, Americans Don’t Accept Titles

The Duke And Duchess Of Sussex Advised To Find New Branding, As Americans Don't Accept TitlesThousands of people have petitioned to have Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stripped of their royal titles, and many more are questioning their continuous usage of the titles.

The pair officially stepped down from royal life in March 2020, though it was reported that they were gunning for the half-in half-out model. Even though they’ve left the Royal Family, the pair continue to represent themselves as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.

Royal Expert Tells Harry And Meghan To Trade Their Titles For A More Suitable Moniker

An internationally recognized expert on British and European royalty is urging Harry and Meghan to reconsider their usage of their royal titles, especially following a recent campaign that called for their titles to be removed.
Marlene Koenig shared that the couple could use an alternative naming system that would probably satisfy everyone, as well as boost their brand post-Royal Family.

Speaking to Daily Express, Koenig said that it’s possible that the pair could simply use “Sussex” after their names, just like many other members of the Royal Family do.

They explained: “If you look at other members of the family or peers or heir to peerages; Beatrice and Eugenie do not use their titles in their jobs – on their work websites it’s Beatrice York, Eugenie York.

“Uncle Charles, Earl Spencer, he’s written several books but doesn’t use his title on his books: he uses Charles Spencer. The Earl of Harewood, whose father was the Queen’s first cousin, was a producer, he used Lascelles, the family name as his title.

“So, I think they should step away from using their titles, they should just use Meghan Sussex, Harry Sussex; there is so much precedent for that, especially in the US.

“I’m not denigrating them at all, I just think it would lessen the tension if they didn’t use the titles, to say, ‘Hey, we’re just gonna use, in the credits, Meghan Sussex, Harry Sussex’, there’s nothing wrong with that.”

In April, a Daily Express poll found out that only a few people from the 8,842 who cast their votes want Harry and Meghan to retain their titles.

A staggering 96 percent (8,466 people) voted “yes” to the notion that Meghan and Harry should have their titles removed.

Just three percent (304 people) said “no” and one percent (72 people) did not know.
