Recent DOOL episodes revealed a devastated Chad didn’t know how he was going to go on without his precious Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) let alone their kids. Thomas and Charlotte DiMera (Cary Christopher, Olivia and Oakley Rondou) were confused and angry, little Charlotte in denial wondering when her mommy was coming home. Once Abigail’s murderer is revealed and brought to justice and Chad’s raging quest to find the culprit is past, then he can begin to heal.

The littles have been without mommy so many times in their life – once when Charlotte was a baby, and Abby became “Gabby”. Then again when she had to go away again, suffering from the effects of a drug her half-sister Gwen Rizczech put in her drink; she was gone for months.

DOOL Spoilers – Chad DiMera Learns What The Saying “It Takes A Village” Means

There was a popular saying once, “It Takes A Village To Raise A Child”, and as a newly single father, Chad quickly learns the meaning of that saying. Even when Abby was away for treatment, Chad always had help – Abby’s parents would take care of the children, or various relatives among the DiMeras.

But after a period of time, however long it takes, Chad will start to become lonely and the children will need a mother figure; Jennifer Deveraux (most recently Cady McClain) helps. But Jennifer is not always around twenty-four seven, and neither are the rest of the DiMera relatives – Anna DiMera, (Leann Hunley) for instance. Chad starts thinking it may be time to put himself out there again, but what will the children think about that?

Chad considers looking for a new love, perhaps through a dating app – but then realizes maybe he should consider single ladies closer to home. The children might be more receptive to someone they are already are familiar with – as long as it’s not Gwen; but she’s still in prison so that’s not feasible anyway. Chad thinks about old girlfriends who are still single but then he reconsiders and thinks maybe a female friend who could be a “big sister” might be a better option.

There is such a friend – and he used to date her – and she is close by, although he doesn’t think he would date her again. He knows that she would be a good “big sister” to Johnny and Charlotte, however in spite of some of her other more undesirable qualities!

DOOL Spoilers – Gabi Hernandez Steps Up, Misses Her Own Daughter, Love Blooms

Gabi Hernandez (Camilla Banus) tells Chad she absolutely will step up and be a “big sister” to Charlotte and Thomas. She misses her own daughter, Arianna Horton (Sydney Brower) who is with her dad Will Horton (Chandler Massey) and his husband, Sonny Kiriakis (Zach Tinker) in Arizona.

It is so not feasible for them to co-parent any more since her “two dads” moved and she goes out visit once a year for a couple of months. By this time her relationship with Li Shin (Remington Hoffman) has fallen apart and she’s a bit lonely herself and she will always regret not making amends with Abigail. But by the time Gabi and Chad spend several family outings together, love blooms; Chad finds love with Gabi after the loss of Abigail!
