Days of Our Lives spoilers and updates tease that Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) will request Lucas Horton (Bryan Datillo) be hypnotized by Dr. Marlena Evans (Deidre Hall). Lucas will want to find out what happened after starting to recall the night Abigail DiMera (Marci Miller) was killed; can Marlena solve the crime?
Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: Lucas Horton Couldn’t Remember How He Cut His Hand
Lucas himself had been afraid that he killed his niece the morning after he woke up from being on a bender, not remembering how he cut his hand. Lucas didn’t remember anything, other than his mother Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) telling him that Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) told Abigail Lucas had been Sami Brady’s (Allison Sweeney) kidnapper. Lucas was upset and afraid it would get back to Sami, but Kate told him it had been to keep her from doing an investigation to find her real kidnapper.
Still, it had upset Lucas so badly, who had been sitting in Brady’s Pub at the time that he stole a bottle of liquor and left with it. He woke up in the Salem Inn with a killer headache, not remembering anything from the night before, and having a large bandaged cut on his palm.
DOOL Spoilers: Later, Lucas Horton Found Out His Niece Abigail DiMera Had Been Stabbed To Death
It wasn’t until later that Lucas found out that his niece, Abigail had been stabbed to death on her bed in the DiMera mansion. He remembered that he was worried and upset over the situation and knew he couldn’t let her or Chad tell Sami the truth, because she’d leave him. They were getting ready to get married and he couldn’t lose her again by her finding out he orchestrated her kidnapping just to be her hero and rescue her. EJ DiMera (Dan Feurreriegel) had been exonerated and Chad knew Lucas framed EJ but Chad really didn’t care about that part. Chad had been mad at EJ anyway for pushing him out of his position at DiMera Enterprises and the two had been at odds over it.
Days Of Our Lives Spoilers: Lucas Horton Starts Having Some Flashbacks And Needs To Know The Truth
As happens frequently with amnesia patients regardless of the cause, Lucas starts having some flashbacks, and nightmares about that night, and he has to know the truth. Marlena wasn’t exactly pleased with his having kidnapped her daughter but she is the only psychiatrist at Salem University Hospital who knows hypnotic regression. Kate feels responsible as well because she knew about the plot and she begs Marlena to hypnotize him to see if she can tease his memories out of him.
Lucas agreed to it since he knew that Marlena helped his daughter Allie Horton (Lindsay Arnold) remember the night she was raped after she started having nightmares and flashbacks. Marlena still isn’t exactly happy with him but agrees to the hypnotic regression session to get at the truth about Abigail; even she doesn’t believe he’d murder his niece.

DOOL Spoilers: A New Person Of Interest Is Interrogated As The Result Of The Hypnotism
A new person of interest will come into the Salem Police Department’s view as the result of Marlena’s hypnotism of Lucas, which of course is videotaped. It turns out Lucas was there, and tangled with someone near the DiMera mansion who was running away with a knife – which has yet to be found. Chances are, any DNA on the knife should it be found it would be too degraded to provide any forensic proof, but it gives police a place to start looking. Comparing the blade to photos and descriptions of the knife wounds to Abigail taken while in the morgue could identify it as the murder weapon, and Lucas is freed.
