Fans are expecting to see the wedding of Eli Grant (Lamon Archey) and Lani Price. However, in classic soap opera fashion, something will come along and ruin the celebration. As fans know, that is Gabi Hernandez DiMera’s (Camila Banus) quest for revenge.

As Gabi was explaining to Lani on Friday’s episode, she tampered with Julie Williams’ (Susan Seaforth Hayes) pacemaker. By using an app on her phone, she can slow Julie’s heart down until it stops. Or she can speed it up, which would result in cardiac arrest. In order to prevent either of these from happening, Lani has been instructed to dump Eli at the altar.

However, head writer Ron Carlivati explained to Soap Opera Digest that he and the writing team did their research. It was never directly stated what happened to Tamara and death was just assumed by some viewers.

“Reports of her death are greatly exaggerated… We did research, could not find anywhere that confirmed her death. In fact, when the character of Lani was brought on, which was just before my time, it was explicitly said that Tamara was alive.”
