Days Of Our Lives: Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) Days of Our Lives spoilers and updates tease in this week’s Soap Opera Digest that Lucas Horton’s (Bryan Datillo) choice will cause his mother, Kate Roberts (Lauren Koslow) devastation. Lucas chooses to plead guilty for the kidnapping of Sami Brady (Alison Sweeney) meaning he will go to prison, leaving Kate with no children in Salem.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Kate Roberts Lost Roman Brady Recently

Viewers will remember that Kate lost Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) recently, when she admitted she’d known that her son had kidnapped his daughter. Kate and Roman’s longstanding romantic relationship couldn’t withstand her lies and he broke up with her, and then she was hit again with loss. Shortly thereafter, she found out about the murder of her ex-lover Jake DiMera (Brandon Barash) which also hit her hard; and now another loss when Lucas is incarcerated.

Lucas explains to his mother that it’s about time he grew up and took responsibility for his messes, and this is a huge step in the right direction for him. Kate comes around even though it’s difficult to see him leave when she realizes he’s sincere and not panicky or trying to scheme his way out of a prison sentence.

DOOL Spoilers – Lucas Horton’s Life Lessons Graduation

In more than one way, Lucas’ decision to take his punishment and accept his sentence is a graduation from the school of life lessons, so to speak. It is a huge decision to make, considering he has a daughter and grandson right there in Salem that he will also be leaving behind along with his mother. Kate realizes that it’s the right thing to do and that Lucas is showing tremendous growth and maturity in making this decision to pay for his crime. Lucas truly is finally growing up and undoubtedly will return from prison a changed man in however many years his sentence will take to complete.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – Kate Roberts Tells Roman Brady

Even though their romantic relationship fell apart, Roman and Kate are still friends and she tells him that Lucas is pleading guilty and going to Statesville. Kate isn’t trying to impress Roman or win him back trying to score brownie points for her son, she’s just telling him friend to friend. Even though she’s not trying to impress Roman with Lucas’ newfound maturity, it likely will give Roman a different attitude towards him.

There will be a huge difference in before kidnapping Lucas and after kidnapping Lucas that Roman will see. It’s a chance for Lucas to reinvent himself and change for the better, even though prison will be an unconventional way in which to do so.
