Royal Family News: Prince George’s “Mary Poppins” Nanny Being Excluded From New Residence

British royal family news shows that the Duchess and Duke of Cambridge, Kate Middleton and Prince William, made news this week in regard to their children’s trusted nanny. Professionally trained nanny Maria Teresa Turrion Borrallo has been with the Cambridge family since Prince George was eight months old. Since then, the family has grown to include Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

Rest assured, there is no scandal or impropriety attached to Maria’s headlines. This week she made news in regard to an upcoming family move. The Cambridges are moving closer to Windsor Castle, leaving behind their 20-odd Kensington Palace digs. They are expected to move into Adelaide Cottage, a much smaller residence. For instance, there are only four bedrooms available.

This has necessitated household staff to no longer live with the family. Maria, as well as a chef and housekeeper, are reportedly having to find accommodations of their own.

The trio currently live with the Cambridge’s but with so little space in their new home they will not be present on a 24/7 basis.

Prince George is now and Borrallo has been in his life from the very beginning. She has also helped to raise Princess Charlotte, 7, and Prince Louis, 4, while living with the family at their Kensington Palace home.

With just four bedrooms at Adelaide Cottage, on Queen Elizabeth’s Windsor estate, Borrallo is expected to live offsite but keep her current duties.

Borrallo hails from Spain and trained at Norland College, “which prides itself on being the first educational establishment to offer childcare training. There, students are taught everything from child brain development to first aid to evasive driving techniques,” according to the Daily Mail.

Royal Family News – Prince George Has Had A Longtime Nanny

Borrallo was first seen in public when Prince George was 9 months old. At that time Maria accompanied Prince William and Kate during their 2014 tour of New Zealand and Australia. She has been present on other vacations, and is often invited to royal events such as Trooping the Colour.

The outlet notes, “Perhaps her most well-known appearance came at Princess Charlotte’s christening in 2015. Nanny Maria appeared alongside Prince William, Kate, Prince George and Queen Elizabeth to celebrate the family’s new addition. She was sporting her Norland College uniform, a brown dress with a bowler hat, and drew comparisons to the world’s most famous fictional nanny, Mary Poppins.”
