The people of Pakistan are truly going through a rough period at this moment, following a flooding that affected millions of people, displaced countless others and has taken over a thousand lives.
The Queen sent a few kind words to the president of the Asian country, Arif Alvi, following the ongoing destruction caused by violent flooding.
Queen Elizabeth Sends Personal Message To the People Of Pakistan Following Devastating Floods
This summer alone, Pakistan has witnessed floods that have affected the lives of countless people and destroyed lots of property. Along with many other leaders from around the world, the Queen sent a heartfelt message to the country.
“I am deeply saddened to hear of the tragic loss of life and destruction caused by the floods across Pakistan.
“My thoughts are with all those who have been affected, as well as those working in difficult circumstances to support the recovery efforts. The United Kingdom stands in solidarity with Pakistan as you recover from these terrible events.”
Instead of signing it with her title, the Queen opted to sign the message with “Elizabeth R”, which she is known to use in her personal, as well as some official, letters.
But the message of support is not the only thing the Royal Family has to offer to the grieving Pakistanis, as Her Majesty’s eldest son, Prince Charles, has pledged to donate to Islamic Relief, an international aid charity in support of the work to help those affected by the floods.
He also talked about the flooding, sharing that he and his wife “are deeply saddened by the devastation caused buy the recent floods in Pakistan.”
He added: “Our hearts go out to all the victims and their loved ones and to the millions of people who have lost property and their livelihoods.”
Prince Charles Talks About the “Special Bond” Pakistan Retains With the United Kingdom
Prince Charles also addresses the close relationship the United Kingdom enjoys with Pakistan, commending the country’s government and emergency services for working tirelessly to save lives.
“Your country is very special to us, with deep and enduring bonds to the United Kingdom. We would like to pay a particular tribute to the Government of Pakistan, the military and emergency services, the countless volunteers and aid agencies who are working tirelessly to save lives and support those in need.
“Times like these remind us of the fragility of our planet and the urgent need for humanity to live in harmony with nature. Our prayers are with all our friends in Pakistan.”
If you’ve paid attention to the news in recent times, you’ve probably seen just how hard the monsoon rainfalls has hit the Sohbatpur area in Jaffarabad district of Balochistan, and the sufferings it has inflicted on people dwelling near the area.
