Kelly Clarkson Speaks Out On Her Life Changing Journey

20 years ago, Kelly Clarkson became the winner of the first ever American Idol hosted in 2002, and since then till this moment, life has been great for the singer/songwriter. In an emotional message shared on her social media, Kelly appreciated the people who stood by her from the very first day to this moment in her life.

The Singer/Songwriter told her fans that it’s been twenty years since her life changing victory and from the victory came an opening of several doors of opportunities which she wouldn’t have had access to had she not taken that step of auditioning for the American Idol. Kelly acknowledged that she will forever be grateful for that day.

“20 years ago today I won American Idol and it forever changed the course of my life. That moment was the door that opened up so much access and opportunity, and creative partnerships that I will be grateful for all of my days.”

Kelly followed up by extending her gratitude to everyone she met on her way up, she thanked them from the depth of her heart and acknowledged that without them she wouldn’t have been what she is right now, and for their immeasurable support whenever she felt down, those that lent her a shoulder and strengthened her when she was weak. She said that those people have turned to family. Kelly also extended her gratitude to the fans who voted for her 20 years ago for they are the reason she is who she is today.

“Thank you so much to every single person that voted 20 years ago! Thank you… I hope all of you have people in your lives that fill you with laughter, and hope, and happiness, and if you don’t feel like you have that, then keep searching because I promise you they’re looking for you too.”

According to Kelly, when she auditioned for the American Idol, she went in as a broke girl who has no name attached to her, wearing some kind of clothing she made herself with a pair of jeans because Kelly said she had no single cloth of her own. According to Kelly, if she hadn’t won the American Idol, she would have opted to go into fashion.

Trust Kelly’s day one fans to come show their loyalty to her, minutes after making the post on her Instagram, some fans came in to say that they voted Kelly on different platforms during Kelly’s time on the show, some said they’ve always loved her for the past twenty years till this moment, that as they changed Kelly’s life through their vote twenty years ago, so did Kelly’s win also change their lives. “You changed our lives 20 years ago and we changed yours. Here’s to the next 20!!!”

Kelly’s appreciation post comes after she revealed that she reunited with her ex-husband Brandon Blackstone temporarily for the sake of their children.
