The stances her husband and mother are taking leave Hope Spencer (Annika Noelle) with little, if any, room to breathe. But she has often been able to make the seemingly impossible work.

If anyone can reach an eventually amicable resolution with Thomas, it will be Hope.

Being Douglas’ biological father means that Thomas has legal parental rights. He held them fully, before intentionally engineering Hope’s link to Douglas.

Thomas wanted Hope to bond with his son and was thrilled when she agreed to adopt him. During that point in the storyline, Thomas was attempting to use Douglas as a pretext for developing a romantic relationship with Hope. His efforts failed.

While plenty of opinions and hard evidence can be offered about Thomas’ performance as a dad, he retains legal rights. Liam and Brooke appear to be dismissing that important factor.

B&B Spoilers – Hope Spencer Is His Adoptive Mother

Douglas has honored his biological mother’s importance on many occasions. Hope has been fully supportive of him doing so.

Time passed and Douglas matured, meaning the recent SORAS (soap opera rapid aging syndrome to Ferri’s recast). It became obvious that he thinks of Hope as his second mother. The bond Thomas wanted happened and has not been broken.

Hope likely assumes her connection with Douglas could be jeopardized if she needs to fight a legal battle with Thomas. She would not want Douglas to think a barrier exists between him and his father.

The Bold And The Beautiful Spoilers – Douglas Forrester Has Not Spoken

Douglas (as then played by Henry Joseph Samiri) was involved in several key storylines. He had a lot to say, which allowed this child character to become an important part of the show’s modern lore.

The new Douglas has not made a decisive statement about wanting to leave the cabin or live with his father full-time at the Forrester mansion. Thomas and Hope are hopeful their son will not be forced to choose.

The legal system becomes a remedy if a compromise can not be reached. Douglas’ experiences with both parents and his current feelings will then be examined, with a custody-share or one parent emerging victorious on B&B.
