Royal Family News: It’s Good To Be King, Fussy Charles’ Jaw Dropping List Of Daily Demands

British royal family news shows that the late Queen Elizabeth’s heir Prince Charles is now King Charles following her death last week at the age of 96. Charles has stunned royal fans with the commanding way he has assumed his role, with only a couple of minor hiccups along the way. His first public speech was polished and powerful, full of laser-like focus and just the right touch of humble emotion.

But he is still royal after all, and a former palace staffer is lifting the lid on some of the idiosyncrasies that Charles was known to enjoy as a prince. Will he continue this list as king?

According to the New York Post, “King Charles was reportedly nicknamed the pampered prince by his staff at Clarence House, where he lived with his wife Queen Consort Camilla from 2003 until he recently took the throne.”

Royal Family News – King Charles Is In Charge

Some of Charles’ extravagant perks were revealed in the 2015 documentary, Serving the Royals: Inside the Firm. Paul Burrell served as a butler to both Queen Elizabeth and the late Princess Diana who was Charles’ first wife and mother of his two sons. Burrell divulged that King Charles had, “everything done for him.”

Burrell said of Prince Charles, “His pajamas are pressed every morning, his shoelaces are pressed flat with an iron, the bath plug has to be in a certain position, and the water temperature has to be just tepid in a bath tub filled only half full.”

Once he is done bathing, Charles, “has his valets squeeze one inch of toothpaste onto his toothbrush every morning.”

Charles exhibited a bit of this fussiness this week as he wrangled in vain with his writing set. On one occasion the ink well wouldn’t get up and walk itself out of his way so he frantically motioned for someone, anyone, to come and get the darn thing. In a second instance he was heard mumbling about “hating” his pen after it spilled ink. Maybe someone should invest in a Bic? To be fair Charles is under a lot of pressure and considering what is being asked of him he has behaved superbly.

Royal Family News – Charles Is Under Pressure

Chef Graham Newbould, a former member of the royal staff added that, “Wherever the prince goes in the world, the breakfast box goes with him. He has six different types of honey, some special mueslis, his dried fruit and anything that’s a bit special that he is a bit fussy about.”

A royal source also spilled to MyLondon: “He also supposedly insists his cheese and biscuits be warmed at a certain temperature at the end of meals and makes his staff keep a warming tray nearby since he’s particular about everything.”

Lastly, Tina Brown reported in, The Palace Papers, “He reportedly even brings his own toilet seat and Kleenex Velvet toilet paper wherever he goes.” Um, TMI? Long live the King.
