90 Day Fiance star, Kimberly “Kim” Menzies is currently with Usman Umar. However, she was previously married to the dad of her son, Jamal. Her relationship with his dad ended but she also had another marriage to an ex-husband who sits in prison for murder. When the news broke, TLC fans took to social media to discuss it.

Usman has been around on the TLC show since he was involved with Lisa Hamme. One thing that becomes obvious, is that fans are unhappy about the way that Lisa was tied into a story about Kim’s ex-husband who sits in prison for murder. Other reactions to the news are mixed, ranging from Kim’s attraction to younger men, and an apparent need to feel needed. 

90 Day Fiance fans know that Kim and Usman didn’t tie the knot. At least, not yet, but they both appear in Happily Ever After? So, that could change. What TLC fans are aware of, is that there’s seldom been a happily ever after for Kim and her relationships. Her marriage with Jamal’s dad ended after 20 years after cheating went on. And her marriage to the murderer didn’t ever get consummated.

90 Day Fiancé Spoilers – Marriage To A Murderer

InTouch Weekly broke the story, and @rewatchreality shared it on Instagram. Accoring to a source, Kim’s ex was already in prison and on death row when they married. The outlet notes that “Kevin and his brother, Tilmon Golphin, were arrested in September 1997.” Teenagers at the time, Kevin Golphin nevertheless ended up being convicted but later, his death sentence was overturned. The source claimed that Kim felt sorry for him, and helped to campaign for the sentence to be changed from death to life imprisonment. 

90 Day Fiance fans heard that Kim became Kevin’s power of attorney and he hopes that one day if he gets out of prison, she will be there for him. TLC fans agreed that it’s an “interesting” twist in the life of Kim. As she seemed to act altruistically, as she never loved Kevin, some fans admire that. One of them said, “It is an interesting story. Everyone has a past and Kim did a very selfless thing. That doesn’t happen often in this world anymore.”

90 Day Fiance fans seem very upset because the only link that Lisa has to Kim and any murderer is that she once partnered up with Usman. Actually, the video accompanying the article revealed Lisa, when there’s plenty of footage of Usman and Kim to choose from. So, one fan asked, “Why does the article show baby girl Lisa? She’s not even mentioned, as far as I could see.”

Another fan wrote, “Please tell me inTouch is not confusing Kimbaaaaaly with Baby Girl Lisa???.”

However, talk soon returned back to Kim as the focus. Some critics feel that it demonstrates that she really likes her men very young. But others felt a bit more generous. A fan wrote, “She has something in her that makes her think she needs to save and protect people. Maybe because she never was? I don’t know but, shes such a good hearted, sweet person. To do this stuff to herself.”

Others, less charitable, said things like, “She saw his story on TV…’ Sounds familiar, doesn’t it? [She] finds young black men on TV, then desperately throws herself at them for attention. It’s seriously sad.”
