British Royal News says that sooner or later the truth was going to come out one way or another. Apparently, Prince Harry was super obsessed about keeping his son Archie’s birth as private as possible when his wife Meghan Markle gave birth to him back in May 2019. In fact, one royal source says that the Duke of Sussex was even “morbidly obsessed” about not revealing too much about his newborn son. Here’s what you need to know.
British Royal News – Prince Harry Was Obsessed About Keeping Archie’s Birth Private
According to Katie Nicholl’s new book, The New Royals: Queen Elizabeth’s Legacy and the Future of the Crown, Harry wanted the press to have no part in his son Archie’s birth, even though there is an “unwritten contract between the royals and the public” to hear all the details surrounding the birth of a new royal baby.
“Harry had always enjoyed outfoxing the media,” Nicholl writes. “He and Meghan were thrilled to be safely delivered of their son in London’s private Portland hospital even before the palace press office had confirmed the duchess was in labor.”
As many royal fans can recall, Meghan did not pose in front of the hospital with her baby the same way that Kate Middleton had done three times before. Instead, she and Harry waited a few days later and had only invited a handful of media outlets to introduce their son Archie to the world.
British Royal News – What’s Next For Harry And Meghan?
Late last month, the Duchess of Sussex criticized the royal family for “keeping up appearances.” Meghan took to her Archetype podcast to detail what had happened during the Sussexes’ trip to Africa in 2019. Apparently, a fire broke out in Archie’s nursery but luckily, his nanny had been carrying him on her back downstairs in the kitchen. Meghan recalled how she felt like and how the royals wanted to immediately bury the matter right away.
“I was like, Can you just tell people what happened? And so much, I think, optically. The focus ends up being on how it looks instead of how it feels,” she said. “And part of the humanizing and the breaking through of these labels and these archetypes and these boxes that we’re put into is having some understanding on the human moments behind the scenes that people might not have any awareness of and to give each other a break. Because we did — we had to leave our baby… And even though we were being moved to another place afterwards, we still had to leave him and go do another official engagement.”
