The dynamic duo are keeping a low profile while Esmé plans the perfect time to resurface in Port Charles society. It’s risky business given she’s wanted by the PCPD. But why has Esmé’s seemingly well-intentioned nanny come to town, and what reason might she have to help Esmé after all she’s done?

No one has seen Esmé since her stumble off the parapet at Wyndemere, nor does anyone appear to be choked up about it. The troubled boarding school girl isn’t for the faint of heart. Capable of torching Ava Cassadine’s (Maura West), seducing her own boyfriend’s father, Nikolas Cassadine (Marcus Coloma), and framing Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) for recording and distributing a sex tape of her best friends is a pretty hefty undertaking for any villain to accomplish in under a year.

Esmé is wanted in connection with that sex tape — of Josslyn Jacks (Eden McCoy) and Cameron Webber (William Lipton) —- given that it was recorded and distributed without their consent. So she may not be in a rush to reveal to anyone where she is, or who’s helping her.

Is it possible someone discovered Esmé’s body after she had taken her spill off the parapet and that person brought her to safety? Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaugnessy) has routinely inserted himself in Nikolas’ business where he doesn’t belong ever since he returned to town. Might he be helping Esmé? Could be have even fallen for her damsel in distress routine?

It’s possible Victor is the one who pulled Esmé’s nanny into the mix, as it’s unlikely she would’ve called on Maggie on her own. Letters exchanged between Esmé and Maggie painted a picture of a real relationship —- perhaps the only sincere one Esmé has experienced. Still, Esmé was deceptive and manipulating in her responses to Maggie, often lying about what she was really up to. She told Maggie life was going swimmingly in Port Charles and that she decided not to approach her birth father, Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom), which couldn’t be further from the truth.

Why is Esmé so important to Maggie, other than being her primary caretaker since her adoptive parents died? Likewise, why is it important to Esmé that Maggie believe life is coming up all roses for her? Could it be that Maggie is invested in Esmé because she is actually her birth mother?

The truth about how Esmé’s adoptive parents died has yet to be revealed, but will be in due time. Did Esmé kill her own parents, or did Maggie arrange for their deaths so she could insert herself into Esmé’s life years after relinquishing her for adoption?

Maggie’s letter to Esmé made it sound like she had an awareness of Port Charles and Ryan. But what kind of lunatic would have had to have parked up with Ryan in the nineties for Esmé to have been conceived? Could “Maggie” actually be Heather Webber (Robin Mattson), and could that be Esmé’s birth mother, too —- unbeknownst to Esmé?
